Deborah Madison's Apricot Fold-Over Pie

@cheeseluv - Good catch - 1/2 teaspoon vinegar and the recipe is fixed!

From Recipes

Cook the Book: Strawberry Risotto

@BitchinFixins - While I haven't seen strawberry risotto during my time in Italy I think that the fact that this recipe come from The Sliver Spoon folks it's probably the real deal.

@simon - I think a little bit of goat cheese added in the end might make a nice addition to the recipe.

Cook the Book: Patatas Bravas

@Kenji - I was thinking that this version was very similar to a warm German potato salad. The dressing really soaked into the potatoes and it was great, with a bit of allioli, of course.

From Recipes

Cook the Book: Patatas Bravas

@nccpa1 - I let the potatoes cool enough so that I could peel them and then dressed them. They were still plenty hot, no need to reheat. Enjoy!

Won a "Cook the Book" Contest two months ago-still waiting?

@engmcmuffin & @joeqboo - The publisher is checking on your books right now, I'll keep you posted. Sorry for the delay!

From Serious Eats: New York

A Sunset Park Taco Crawl

@Chichi Wang - Thanks! Most of the places I went to have a bit of offal. Taco Mix has oreja, buche, tripa, lengua, and campechanos (mixed meat).

@NYC Food Guy - Best bite is a toss up between the barbacoa at Tulcingo Deli Vl and the al pastor at Taco Mix. I split up the crawl into two legs, there's only so many tacos a girl can eat!

From Recipes

Cook the Book: Asian Fried Turnip Paste

I ended up making this recipe substituting daikon for the turnips since they are more readily available in my neighborhood. And, yes, this is not a traditional turnip cake recipe. As CustardBao said earlier, this one is geared more towards ingredients that are easier to come by. But even being labor intensive and not exactly authentic, it was delicious.

From Recipes

Cook the Book: Scallion, Radish, and Cucumber Salad with Cashews and Vermicelli

@Peggasus - Tomorrow's Cook the Book recipe uses both the Sesame Paste and the Ginger Syrup. Otherwise the Sesame Paste would make for some great cold sesame noodles and the Ginger Syrup is perfect for summer cocktails. I'm thinking about adding a teaspoon or two to my next gin and tonic or mixing it up with lemon juice for ginger lemonade.

@bklyn_foodster - Adding lime juice to the soy sauce is a great idea for those who want to forgo the fish sauce.

David Lebovitz's Polenta Cake with Olive Oil and Rosemary

@Kitchenista - Polenta is a type of ground corn meal and can usually be found in the same aisle as rice. You can always substitute stone ground corn meal for this recipe. Enjoy!
