I've been trying pretty hard to find a great everything bagel. The key is that it have garlic AND salt. The salt is what makes an everything bagel the king of bagels. Sandwich Alert: Salumeria Biellese

Emil and the gang were kind enough to bring me back some leftovers. While I still have to go out and inspect the joint myself, I have faith in this new place. The leftovers were grand! I'll be visiting this weekend.

My Cookies

The cookies were pretty good. I have a tough time baking butter cookies in my oven because it heats atrociously unevenly. When I can remember to rotate them often, they turn out great. But the royal icing I made tasted like a whole lot of nothing. Is there anything good you can do with royal icing to make it compliment a cookie? Or is it basically just there to look nice?
