Cook the Book: 'Zingerman's Guide to Better Bacon'

Ah bacon. There is not a faster way to the heart of any of the people in our home. When we had a rough start to the weekend Saturday morning with an overflowing washer I immediately went downstairs and defrosted some bacon. It's impossible to be unhappy if you can smell bacon cooking. :-)

I'm in Washington state. Our best homegrown eats are definitely apples and salmon!

I am interested in becoming better at so many different cuisines I'm not sure where to start. If I had to choose only one I would probably say Thai cooking because Thai recipes are always a hit with our family.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Edible Chocolate Box from Charles Chocolates

We (I have four kids) are known for our trifles. I LOVE them because it is a wonderful dessert for children to prepare. They are forgiving and also fabulous. We do a wonderful brownie trifle with coffee flavored brownies, chocolate pudding, whipping cream and shaved chocolate.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: D'Artagnan Boneless Heritage Ham

My husband tried this sandwich at a local diner and requested it when we had leftover ham. I wasn't sure what to think but made it anyway. It was REALLY wonderful. Use a hoagie type roll, grill your ham slices and load up with bbq sauce, jalapenos and oil and vinegar. It was really good!
