Cat Cora Opening Mediterranean-Style Restaurant on Disney's BoardWalk

@ Adam Kuban

Magic Kingdom is famous for having bad food at it's sit down restaurants (however the 'fast food' is still better than mos theme parks). MGM has the Brown Derby which is one of the best restaurants at Disney and a out of the way Italian Restaurant i can't remember the name of but was surprisingly good.

But the good places tend to be at the resorts (i consider the flying fish and this place part of the boardwalk resort) and EPCOT.

I'm disapointed. Spoodles was one of my fav options for dining at WDW, it's food was as just about as good as the 'top end' WDW places (Ca Grill Flying Fish) for a lower price and it wasn't that crowded.

Also it was already a Mediterranean place with a lot of Greek influences (at least when i ate there last WDW seems to be dumbing down menus and this may have hit Spoodles) so I'm not sure if Cora will really have an impact or if it's just a name chef being brought in to prop up an existing restaurant that may not be performing as well as Disney would like (and to give it a better name and probably an excuse to raise prices at it but given the proximity to the flying fish i doubt the prices will go up too much).

The Worst Seafood Display Ever? Or the Most Brilliant? You Decide

That's awesome. It's a shame it probably only lasted a few moments before someone complained.

people that complain about this are likely the same ones who think eating fish off the bone (with head attached) is for 'savages''.

What's delicious in Jersey City?

if you are interested in going to the Mitsuwa Marketplace (I don't think Trader Joe's and whole foods is worth the trip) there is a shuttle bus that goes there from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Yeah it may seem strange to take the path into NYC and then take the shuttle to edgewater but it'll do in a pinch.

Also if you are going up to edgewater check out the Mitsuwa Marketplace. Besides being good for Japanese ingredients they have a good Japanese food court (i love their raman)

I live right by Tonnele ave and Newark ave so i know that area really well.

That block on Newark av is great for Indian food (the Thai place isn't bad either) and groceries. A block north of JFK has a good Filipino market and a few Filipino restaurants around it (and a bakery). Bolo curry never has a crowd (and i suspect won't be open very long) but it's good (i get delivery from there all the time).

on 1&9 before Tonnele circle there is a Chinese/Korean market called the 555 Asian market with really good fish and a good hot food bar. 1 & 9 also has the White Manna diner which is supposedly famous for it's burgers.

As for Grocery shopping i usually go to path mark or shoprite for 'normal' things and hit the various ethnic places for 'other things' there is also the Twin City supermarket on Sip ave that isn't bad and has a lot of south American ingredients.

Mom visiting! Help! (NYC)

i'm not sure if WD-50 is worth it if you don't go for the tasteing menu. However the lunch tasteing menu might be a good idea.

I would recomend The Gotham bar and Grill for lunch. It fits in your money range easily.

They're Ba-ack! 'Top Chef' Gets Windy

anyone else think it's a bit unfair that Richard Blais is competing? he's already a pretty well known chef even before he was on Iron Chef America.

Food Network Celeb = Restaurant Chain Spokesman?

Guy Fieri restaurants all seem like chain restaurants in the making (with names like Johnny Garlic's and Tex Wasabi's ) so the TGIF spokesrole is hardly a shock...

What foods seriously put you off your feed?

their is a fillipino dish called Dinuguan which is a spicy pigs blood stew that really skives me out (even if the one time i actually mustered up the strength to taste it it wasn't bad i just can't get over the pigs blood in the dish)
