Best tamales in NYC? (Closer to UES the better)

My favorite tamales, at the moment, are from a cart underneath the 61st St. - Woodside Station on Roosevelt Ave. on the 7 line. The family is from Oaxaca and they sell a Oaxaqueno style tamal (huge) in a banana leaf for $3. They also make the style in a corn husk that are cheese or chicken, spicy or mild for $1. They're fantastic. Take some home.

NYC: Yogurt Search

Well, you will find a great yogurt in the cheese counter at Titan Market in Astoria. It is made by Skotidakis in Canada from goat and cow's milk. They only have it in bulk and sell it in containers. It is strained in the Greek / Bulgarian style and is terrific. I prefer it to the more commonly found Fuge brand. Try it. You'll never return to watery grocery store yogurt. A link to the makers website is:

Titan is on 31st Street between Astoria Blvd. and the 30th Ave. stops on the N train. They also have an outstanding selection of Fetas, other Greek imports and their olives are half the price of some well known Manhattan retailers.
Enjoy.

Question of the Day: What's your favorite cheese?

So many cheeses, so little time. Certainly depends on your mood but I love Torta del Casar on a cracker, crust of bread or on finger on the train.

I've just been diagnosed with diabetes. Shall I kill myself?

I hear that agave syrup is a great substitute for sugar...with the lowest glycemic index than any other natural product available. Good luck.
