Rye in Williamsburg: When Good Restaurants Stop Short of Greatness

While I'm an Australian and unlikely to be in Brooklyn any time soon, this review was well-written and evocative, making the meals come alive.

The only problem is that I'm now dying for some duck confit (not easy to find in Melbourne at 1:00am on a Thursday morning!)

When I was in the US and Europe, I craved Tim Tams. They are easily more addictive than crack.

studyzone, did you ever do a Tim Tam Slam, where you bite off a corner of the biscuit and use it as a straw for coffee, Milo or Bailey's Irish Cream? Divine!

The Linkery Burger with 'The Lot' in San Diego

I feel like quoting the line from "Green Eggs and Ham" (as I do to my two-year-old): "Try them, try them and you may!"

Beetroot ("beets") adds a lovely contrast to a hamburger, like a chutney or a sauce. Just include it in moderation.

What's So Weird About That?

Even my Aussie friends think this is weird but here goes:

Hot pasta mixed with Vegemite, parmesan cheese and one or two raw egg yolks. Truly one of the most delicious meals I have ever eaten.

The trick with Vegemite is to use it sparingly (like a politician's wit).
