The Food Super Bowl — Boston vs. New York: No Contest
Ed is right. There is no comparison here. Boston should try to compare their food to KC or some place like that. To even mention the two places in the same breath is giving Boston way too much credit.
Chris Schlesinger Gets Saucy
I'm very happy I saw this article. Inner Beauty was my favorite hot sauce and I've tried for sometime to find it or a replacement. I finally decided to just make it myself. My question is this though. There is another recipe on the internet so I was wondering why there is this difference? The other recipe is:
* 12 fresh habanero chiles
* 1 ripe mango, or equivalent frozen (I use half a bag of Trader Joe's frozen mango)
* 1 cup cheap yellow mustard
* 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
* 1/4 cup white vinegar
* 1 T curry powder
* 1 T ground cumin
* 1 T chili powder
* salt and pepper to taste
So which one should I make?
Best Fried Chicken Joints in NYC
Ed, you have to update your list here. Rack & Soul's fried chicken was nowhere near one of the best in the city. It wasn't bad, but it was very average to say the most.
I must give a non-NYC fried chicken tip to everyone though. If you ever find yourself in or near Nashville, TN, go to Prince's Hot Chicken. It is truly amazing fried chicken (and really hot).

Sripraphai is probably the best Thai restaurant in the city, but if you're looking for the spiciest, walk about 10-12 blocks from there to either Nusara or Chao Thai. Both are much hotter than Srip.
