Weekend Excursion: Apple Picking Near the Big Apple

I love to pick apples. Connecticut has some great family-friendly, pick-your-own farms. My favorite is Silverman's farm in Easton. They also have a pumpkin patch, where if you guess the weight of a pumpkin correctly, you get it free.

Lunch Whistle Review: Morimoto

Ed, do you just take this pictures without anyone giving you the stink-eye? I always feel self conscious when I bring along a camera and attempt to take pictures. I fear the wait-staff. Any tips for a blogger who would like to remain undercover?

Beignets in New York City?

I agree with Kathryn that the best beignets can be found at The Bar Room. If you want some Italian doughnuts Abboccato has fantastic bomboloni made from chocolate and filled with nutella.

NYC Summer Restaurant Week Recommendations (or warnings)

I highly recommend lunch during restaurant week because it is more affordable than dinner. But I did have a great time at Nougatine during restaurant week in February. The service was great and the food was generally the stuff you'd find on the regular menu.
