What do you collect?

Restaurant ware but pre-1960 if possible. I have way too much but I always cave when I see something that matches one of my designs. It's so pretty!!!

According to the comments on You Tube, it's actually cranberry/apple juice.

Weird parental food preparation

My dad had some theory about hamburgers and they always ended up almost as round as a meatball--all I wanted was the flat patty like they had at McDonalds. My mother made this horrible, gray meat (cube steak? flank steak?) that took 15 minutes to chew in order to swallow. I usually put as much as I could in my mouth, went to get more milk and spit it out while in the kitchen. I think that is partially the reason I no longer eat meat!

Favorite summer food- now and from childhood?

Ice cream bar from the Good Humor man and then seeing the riddle revealed on the wooden stick!

Nowadays it is still ice cream but also gazpacho and fresh corn on the cob.

A Lesson for Omnivores: Vegetarian Myths, Debunked

I don't eat beef, lamb or pork but I do eat chicken, turkey and fish. I have my own reasons for my eating choices and I never expect anyone to understand them nor do I ever judge anyone else for eating those animals. My immediate family took some time to "get it" but when I visit they always have a chicken or fish option which I appreciate. I am also appreciative when others make an effort to do the same but I would never expect anyone to go out of their way and am happy to eat sides when the main course doesn't appeal. What I'm trying to say is that no matter what anyone chooses to eat, a mutual respect is always the best way to go.

What's Your Take on Cake Ice Cream?

I tried this and I really liked the chocolate frosting but didn't love the cake batter taste--rather disappointing!

What childhood food do you wish they still made?

Hands down Morton's Honey Roll. I'd come home from school on a cold day, slather some butter on a frozen roll, put it in the oven and watch the roll soften and the butter melt. I'd give anything to have one again!

Ketchup Chips: The Search for Delicious

They're at the Gristede's in Brooklyn Heights at Henry and Clark--about the only reason you would want to step foot on this store.
