A Tale of Two Bakeries: Boston's Flour Bakery and Clear Flour Bread

FLour is okay to me, and Clear Flour is terrific... But in my opinion, the best bakery is Iggy's Bread in Cambridge. They have amazing croissants, breads, and sweet and savory treats!

Turf War: Boston's Best Ice Cream

I never have a problem with the staff at Christina's, and I've been there so many times. They're just moving people along, so that the next person can get his ice cream too.

Cook the Book: 'Giada's Kitchen'

I love inhaling a big plate of deliciously al dente pasta (pumpkin tortellini with mascarpone sage cream sauce). Or else, perfectly spicy herby marinara with super fresh shellfish over nice firm linguini noodles.

Toscanini’s in Boston, Really the Best Ice Cream In the World?

I think Christina's Ice cream in Inman Sq is so much better. Coffee oreo, green tea, adzuki bean, kulfee, rum raisin- all awesome! I've never been back and never will be back to Tosci's since after he got people to pay his own tax debt. (And it's not the first time he owe taxes!)

Why Pepperoni Pizza Sucks

1. baby spinach, roasted sweet potato, caramelized onions, garlic, rosemary sauce, mozzarella, and goat cheese

2. garlicky green olives, cracked black pepper, garlic olive oil, feta, goat cheese

I love these 2 combinations at Emma's pizza in Cambridge, MA

The Art of Making Bánh Tét

i prefer these sticky rice cakes with a baby banana filling. the bananas get all caramelized from the long cooking. i used to make them often, even during non-New Year days.

those banh tet does lack red beans in the sticky rice part.

Cereal only for breakfast?

I love Vanilla Almond Clusters from Trader Joe's straight from the box.

I like the taste of slightly burnt____

The burnt part at the bottom of the pot when you make sticky rice- the best! I prefer that part than the good part.

-grilled corn
-slightly burnt roasted soybeans
-creme brulee, top part only
-burnt sugar ice cream from Toscanini's (Cambridge, MA)

What's Your Go-To Weekday Breakfast?

My breakfast is usually either:

-Kashi cereal with soy milk
-Peanut butter, Nutella, and bananas on whole wheat
-Whole wheat & marmite
-Just an apple
I'll drink either soy milk or tea, or the two combined.

Banana Overload!

My favorite: Spread nutella on them, wrap plastic wrap and freeze.

What fruit could you eat every day for the rest of your life?

mangosteens, lychees, mangoes, soursop, papaya, bing cherries!!

Banana Overload!

-Banana fritters- so easy to make. Just make a batter like you would with tempura. You can also buy pre-mixed flour for tempura in asian stores.

-Sweet banana soup with tapioca balls.
-Banana ice cream.

Why don't you put the bananas in the fridge? I do in the hot weather when they just got ripe. The skin will turn brown on the outside over a few days, but the inside is perfectly fine. You'll get to eat chilled bananas too. Just put them in plastic bags to prevent being too cold.
