Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Zingerman's Praise the Lard Gift Box
My grandma would render fat from a small slab of bacon. She used the fat to make different rice dishes (she was Spanish and that was a staple in the household) and then she would give us the cracklins for us to eat. That was such a treat!
Cook the Book: Martha Stewart's Hors d'Oeuvres Handbook
My very first party that didn't involve college mates. I made a fondue party, made from scratch all sorts of nibbles, prepared the meats (beef and chicken), and 5 different dipping sauces. It was so much fun I definitely got the entertaining bug after that!

I come from the Caribbean and my fondest memories are of going to my aunt's annual Christmas (or Epiphany) feast and having a whole roast pig. It was quite a production, two or three men would bring the pig and place it with all sorts of extras. Wonderful taste!

As much as I would enjoy Stewart or Cobert, I think for a relax, easy-going time, it would have to be Ellen. I think we would have a lovely bbq with beef, and potato salad, grilled veggies, and all the great summer produce available. To end it we would have some wonderful desserts.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Food Giveaway: Russ & Daughters
Twenty-five years ago I went to the original Carnegie Deli, before they became a movie thing, and had a bagel with lox, cream cheese, sliced onion and capers. It was so huge I made 2 meals out of that sandwich. I still can taste it... P.S., I don't think it cost me more than $8.00.
Cook the Book: 'The Martha Stewart Living Cookbook: The Original Classics'
I tried her Challah bread french toast about 4 years ago for Christmas breakfast and that has become a standard at our Christmas table. Also, I learned to make the perfect hard-boiled egg. They make wonderful deviled eggs!

I've made a couple of recipes and they turned out great. Also, learned how to boil a perfect hard boiled egg, sounds weird, but it really was perfect.
