Mmmm...Non-Breakfast Food Breakfast

My recent breakfast has been Turkey, mayo and spicy sweet pickles on a potato roll.

What an interesting thread to read through...
I wonder though... What if it was Le Creuset that had sponsored the question? or Williams Sonoma perhaps?

Serious Green: Saving Energy By Using The Microwave

We use the microwave all the time for steaming veggies, baking sweet potatoes, cooking bacon, boiling water for oatmeal, cream of wheat and couscous. I haven't tried cooking meat but based on xutopia's suggestion, Im going to try salmon.

Cardamom, Coriander and Garam Masala -- Help!

To me, coriander has a citrusy smell and it is the color of dark sand.

What food(s) did you love as a kid and now can't stand?

Amaretto cookies - My parents would always buy them for Christmas parties and would save a handful for me. These days, just the smell makes me gag.

Worst Food You Ate at a Party

Undercooked lamb at an Easter dinner. What made it so bad was that I had just found out I was pregnant (at the stage where the smell of water made me ill) and we hadnt told anyone yet. I spent most of the dinner hiding pieces of meat under my mashed potatoes like a kid ;)

absentminded kitchen disasters

Many many times, I have grabbed the handle of a saute pan after pulling it out of a 400 + degree oven. Usually, as I am mindlessly reaching for the handle, I am thinking 'I really need to put the oven mitt on that handle before I grab it' then half a second later; "AGGHHHHHFUUU*KSONNOVAB*&#HMUTHAFER!!!"

Hangover food

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup, crackers and Coke. Start with little bitty sips of the broth, then onto the noodles and once you can handle the chicken and veggies, you know you are going to be O.K.!

Simple Question: What did you have for dinner?

Sauteed Pork Chops, stove top stuffing, leftover mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and biscuits. I was so tired from Christmas shopping, I just kept pulling stuff out of the pantry and fridge.

Do you have a unique song you sing when you make a special dish?

When we are shucking corn in the summertime, I always sing...
'shucka corn , shucka corn , lemme tell ya what Im gonna doooo, Im gonna shuck ya, gonna pluck ya, gonna eat you too...shucka corn'.
