My favorite kind of sauce is red pepper cream sauce. It is sooooooooo good, I just love it!

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

oh peabody - could you please please pretty please put up the recipe for these whoopie pies and your arborio rice pudding with stone fruit? I really really would like to try them out! Thanks.

Cook the Book: 'Chocolate Epiphany'

This would definitely have to be chocolate flourless cake. Not the kind that's molten or gooey in the middle. The kind that is heavy on the tongue, but it's the most delightfully rich thing I have ever tasted. Go to the french restaurant at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. Order theirs. It's heavenly.

How do you make chocolate chip cookies?

I have a question: Does it really make a difference to let the dough rest in the refrigerator for twenty four hours before baking it?

Foods We Loved as Kids, Maybe Not as Adults

@barbara_flay - I like to buy peeps just so I can put them in the microwave and watch them blow up. Try it sometime, you'll feel like you're getting even with them for how disgustingly marshmallowy and sugary they are!

Grocery bagging

@beth1 - Where is this Vallarta supermarket you are speaking of? I live in La Mesa, so I'm curious if it is accessible to me, I'm always looking for a better supermarket with GOOD produce! Thanks.

Soapy butter

I'm really weird about funky flavors coming into food where they should not be. If it was me, I would have thrown the whole entire pound out, too. Yuck!!! Soap? That's horrible. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Using the search feature - spec. Trader Joes

Speaking of chocolate, I have discovered a really amazing thing. Godiva sells little tins called Godiva chocoiste pearls. My favorite flavor is dark chocolate pearls with mint. These little balls of heaven are so ridiculously good. Check them out here

I will definitely search before posting next time. I did not realize how upsetting it would be. I'm just new, and I've been racking my brain about what kind of topic I could come up with. This is the best I could do for now. Lame-o. I should've known it had been brought up before.

mepolo- I am the one who started the Trader Joe's thread. I'm not going to apologize, though, because I AM new to Serious Eats, and who gives a crap if I post something that was covered over a year ago? If you don't like it, ignore it. But it's not like the same people are posting the same things every time. I have actually learned quite a lot of new things from the people who wrote a response, and I think that is more than enough reason to post, even if it is a repeat.

Trader Joe's Favorites?

You're completely right, when I used it, it was just a stand alone "dish." I will definitely have to try it with a chili like you say. Thanks!

Wow, It's amazing how many things you miss that other people find. Didn't know about the baguettes, either avideater! And @brownie, I tried the fire roasted frozen corn once, one person mentioned it tasted like licking an ash tray, and now I can't get the idea out of my head. If not for that person, I would still be buying the darn stuff!

Santa Fe Recommendations

I know you're probably referring to food and restaurants, but I am guessing you're gonna go to the Plaza. You have got to go to Plaza Cafe. They make the best pancakes with pine nuts in them. Yum! Plus, there's so many good jewelry makers down at the Plaza, and Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi is a beautiful church right across from the cafe. Check it all out, I love Santa Fe. I'm jealous of you, I'm homesick!

White Pepper

@cybercita The NY Times article you linked is about the peppery quality of Shiraz wine, not about white pepper at all. Confused. . .

Tea or coffee?

I love both. I have a cup of coffee every morning when I am at work, but in the middle of the day I have several cups of ginger tea. My favorite tea is Yogi Tea. Yum! So I would definitely have to say I would keep my tea and ditch the joe.

'Next Food Network Star' Runner-Up Adam Gertler Gets His Own Show

Those bastards over at The Food Network ripped off Adam's pilot idea he had for the finale of TNFNS. Ask Aida? I watched that crap. . .really? It was ridiculous. I am so close to writing off The Food Network for awhile. I'll just blog instead of watching crappy, cranked out food shows. I don't think I will watch Adam's new show in September. If there's no cooking, I don't watch. Too bad. . .

I like Sam the Cooking Guy. He can get sort of annoying, but it's always good for a laugh.

Ratings Watch

This is horrifying. Top Chef fans HAVE to spread the word about the show or we're never going to get it right. Top Chef kills TNFNS. Even though I watched TNFNS, I won't do it again because it was so disappointing. It was the first season I watched, and really, it just falls short of Top Chef. And don't even get me started on Hell's Kitchen. . .

Got roasted peppers. Need inspiration.

Oh my lord are you kidding? You have GOT to make green chile chicken stew with those pretty little babies. I'm from New Mexico and if you have anything like a Hatch chile, this is what you have to make. That, or green chile enchiladas. Go authentic mexican with this. You have to!

From Talk

how many aprons

An apron is on my list of things I want for the kitche, yet do not have. I want to get a really fancy one and cover it in flour but I use it the first time, so it doesn't look new. Maybe a ridiculously expensive Haute Hostess apron. . .
