Video: Chocorotica

Wow, I've never said this before but I really do feel like I need to go wash my brain after that. It was just so... gross. Just nasty. Ugh. I love the skid mark left by that horrendous cake. And even the still of the nails made me want to look away. But I didn't. I was a fool :(

Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 65: 'Call Me Papacito'

I never felt compelled to reply before (although I enjoy your entries very much) but good job! Even I, as a complete stranger, am proud of you. That took hard work and dedication and it had really helped me be upbeat about my own SO's weight problems.

In Videos: Paula Deen's Fried Mac and Cheese Bacon Bites

I would try this dish exactly once. I don't care how good it is, this is a once only kind of thing. It sounded good until chisai pointed out the soggy bacon grease - yuck!

Also, is there anyway to get rid of that M&M's commercial on the side bar. I yelled it at my T.V. last night and I'll yell it at my computer today: I am not and do not want to be sexually attracted to my snack foods!!

One Dozen Trader Joe's Eggs, Each with a Double Yolk

Total jackpot! Thanks for all the info, guys. My SO LOVES yolks and so do I. I usually don't get jumbo or buy eggs at TJ's but you better believe I am going to do so from now. I have stumbled upon a few double yolks before and was always totally stoked. I would consider myself very lucky to find a whole carton of doubles. Nothing freaky here, just delicious!

Urban Chickens in the Bronx

I've been really interested in urban chicken raising lately, but I want to wait until I have an actual house and a yard to raise them in. I was thinking about having my kids take care of them, if I have any. Although I do wonder if killing and eating the chickens once they stop laying eggs would be too traumatizing for little kids. Does anyone here have experience with this?

Locavore 1.0: Find Local, in Season Food on Your iPhone

Whoa, trippy! I just noticed the other screenshot is fruit by state in Hawaii. I'm from Seattle and I go to school in Hawaii! *shifty eyes* What is going on here?

Oh yeah, I recognize Seattle Market names when I see them. I wonder if this is app was created in Seattle. Anyways, UD Farmers Market forever! That is all.

Got Breast Milk?

Oh, man, I can't believe I missed a post on cannibalism! For the record: yes I would.

Really though, I don't understand this repulsion people have for beast milk. Only in America is it a hard and fast rule that you stop breast-feeding less than a year into your life. It seems like once a child is old enough to know what sex is, people freak out if they're exposed to breasts. What? How are breasts more connected with sex now than they are with children?
Anyways, I can't really say anything here that hasn't been said already, but I will say this: drinking breast milk after you're an infant does not make you a deviant, Timothy. It just makes you a gastronomically curious person. Passing judgment on what other people voluntarily consume, however, DOES make you a tool.

P.S. Yes, I have and it was fucking delicious.

Acid, the Oft-Overlooked Seasoning

In our house, it's either lime or balsamic vinegar. I can't think of a single dish we make that doesn't have a dash of one or both. I even put lime in our water. The SO drinks nothing but OJ. We love our citrus and it makes everything taste better.

Skittles-Infused Vodka, Taste the Alcoholic Rainbow

Too bad I got here so late. I have made this concoction and only just this weekend polished off the last of it. Let me say that it was dangerously good. None of the flavors required a chaser and purple vanished within a day (between 4 people, of course). Shaking and a few days of sitting time really is required and straining out the wax is a messy, yet grossly fascinating activity. I made mine in 7 mason jars (I combined original and some berry flavors to complete the rainbow) and it looked lovely. I really should have taken a picture.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: D'Artagnan Boneless Heritage Ham

Takes a thin slice pf ham, fries it in a pan and when it's nice and crispy on the sides lay some cheddar on it until the cheese is all melty and runny. Then top it with sliced tomatoes and lettuce. A little mayo and toasted bread. We simply call it the Super Sammich.

my boyfriend started drooling over the olive oil and roast chicken idea. Maybe we can combine them into one delicious meal. Thanks so much! Keep em coming!
