I eat ______ out of the tin/jar/bottle...
Just last night, I had the italian tuna in olive oil out of the can with a squeeze of lemon juice and some cracked pepper. Yummm. When I was little I would eat spaghetti-os from the can.... Haven't had them in years but I bet I would still prefer them cold.
Threadless T-Shirt Giveaway: Lemon Aid
with vodka obviously!
Dinner Tonight: Orecchiette with Broccoli, Anchovies, and Chiles
that's funny, I happen to be making the cauliflower, bacon and orecchiette tonight for the first time since it was originally posted... yum!
"...and the chicken tastes like wood."
- Buy the chicken with skin and bone attached and remove the skin and bone after cooking but before serving to hubby. You, on the other hand, can enjoy the good stuff!
this was going to be my suggestion. The bone adds way more flavor, and the skin acts as a juice shield.

meat as a condiment/side as opposed to the main event.

So, What Did You Make?
Wednseday night, I cooked with friends. We made:
Roast Pheasant
Brussels sprouts braised in cream
cornbread & sage stuffing
creamed spinach
scalloped potatoes.
Then on actual Turkey day, I went to family friends and had a more traditional spread. It was a lot of fun doing this because I got to experiment a bit on Wednesday night, but still got to enjoy all my favorites on Thanksgiving (and of course make my famous sweet potato casserole like grandma used to make).
Measure the oven FIRST
that's funny, this same thing happened to me last night. Luckily, I was only roasting pumpkins so I could just put them on greased aluminum foil.
Cook the Book: 'Baked, New Frontiers in Baking'
this is an odd one. My grandma used to make me a bowl full of fruit, say blueberries, bananas, maybe strawberries, mixed with sour cream and lots of sugar. I still dream about that rich, sour yet sweet, creamy concoction. I haven't had it in years but I am not opposed to the idea...

Sautéed Brussels Sprouts With Bacon
Dinner Tonight: Orecchiette with Cauliflower, Bacon, and Breadcrumbs
oh, I remembered another modification. I did throw about 2 tbs of butter in there as well. And I'd do it again! :p
Dinner Tonight: Orecchiette with Cauliflower, Bacon, and Breadcrumbs
DOOD. yum!!! My only modification was a parsley garnish. So delicious. I think I might slice he garlic rather than mince, because the garlic ended up caramelziing too, and I think slices would be a tad bit mellower. Will definitely make this regularly. My friends were in shovel food in your face mode.
Cook the Book: 'Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics'
In the summertime, it's my guacamole. MY recipe is very simple, only about 8 ingredients, but I think I have the balance of flavors down pat. This time of year, My sweet potato casserole! Yes, it's the deal with the pineapple and marshmallows and all that good stuff, but I have a few secret ingredients and everyone seems to love it.
The perfect BLT
I love a BLT, but I also have to give love to the TLT: [smoked] Tempeh, lettuce and tomato. delicious!!
